Remains of ancient race of job creators found in rust belt

Did you see this bit in The Onion?

WASHINGTON – A team of leading archaeologists announced Monday they had uncovered the remains of an ancient job-creating race that, at the peak of its civilization, may have provided occupations for hundreds of thousands of humans in the American Northeast and Midwest.

According to researchers, these long- forgotten people once flourished between western New York state and Illinois, erecting highly distinctive steel and brick structures wherever they went, including many buildings thought to have held hundreds of paid workers at a time.

It’s a dark and funny read. But all irony aside: if there’s one thing the last 30 years have shown us, it’s that public policy choices make a big difference in our lives.

Not so long ago, America’s economy offered more opportunity for middle class workers to raise their families, give their children the opportunity to go to college, and look forward to dignity and security in retirement.

Your gift to EOI today will help restore the promise of the American middle class – and your donation will be matched dollar for dollar (up to $10,000) by a generous EOI donor!

Working together, we can advance new public policies that represent the best of American values, like: rewarding hard work, building strong families, and doing your fair share.

Please give what you can today – and pass this email on to your friends, so we can keep working toward our $10,000 match! Thank you very much for your support.
