Development and Operations Associate

Position Summary

Join a dedicated team of people researching and advocating for educational opportunity, good jobs, healthy families and workplaces, and a dignified retirement for all in Washington! This position will primarily support EOI’s development and operations work. You’ll gain experience working in a wide variety of organizational and program roles. Reports to Development Manager.

Location: Primarily remote at present, with occasional (weekly) in-office in Downtown Seattle. If/when public health developments make office-based work feasible, this will be a full-time in office position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with Development Manager to support development and fundraising opportunities. Example activities:
    • Assist in planning and executing EOI’s annual fundraising dinner and other events.
    • Develop creative fundraising appeals and content for email campaigns, mailed fundraising appeals, and EOI’s Annual Report.
    • Manage the donor database, including processing gifts, creating thank you letters, generating queries, and pulling lists and reports.
    • Support grant application process.
  • Work with Managing Director to support the organization’s administrative needs. Example activities:
    • Receive and distribute mail, and code bills for payment.
    • Coordinate communications and logistics for board and other meetings.
    • Order/restock office supplies.
    • Renew organizational registrations, licenses, etc.
    • Support implementation of new software, IT policies, etc.
    • Administer recruitment and hiring process.
    • Assist with financial review and other budget/finance matters.
    • Conduct new employee on-boarding and benefits enrollment.
  • Other work as assigned.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and/or Constant Contact is a plus.
  • Flexibility and willingness to respond to changing needs of EOI’s office and team.

Work Environment, Schedule and Culture

  • This job is primarily remote until King County reaches phase 4, but requires occasional (weekly) in-office work related to office operations
  • Our work week is Monday through Friday during traditional business hours. This is a 40 hour/week position, but occasional longer hours may be required, including evening and weekend work with advance notice. Some flexibility in work schedule is negotiable.

This is a full-time exempt and salaried position that includes a generous paid leave package, medical and dental benefits, and a retirement plan. The salary range for this position is $55,804 – $59,428, depending on qualifications and experience.
